Boat Building - A New Hobby
Unity Build
December 2006...planning to build a Malahini classic styled runabout designed by Glen-L.  Why?  Well there are a multitude of reasons, excuses, and justifications.  In the end though, if you have ever built anything, really appreciated the end result, and savored the journey then ultimately you will understand why one would venture into his own build.

Over my many, albeit young, years I have come to admire and respect nearly all of the people in my life.  My father, for instance, has shown me how to dedicate myself to a project and follow it through (for better or worse) with careful thought and inspiration.  My grandfather has a gift of empowering others to become more than they thought they could be.  My wife and children have shown me how to love life.  All have given me passion to enjoy every project and every day.

I hope you (whomever you are) enjoy the journey as much as I.

Worthwhile Links:
Glen-L - A wonderful collection of boat designs and plans.  His book "Boat Building with Plywood" is a necessity for the amateur boat builder.  I have found the forum especially beneficial when in need of inspiration and resolution to builder's block.  Another interesting find...boat builders are actually nice people and like to share their experiences (good and bad) in regards to their own projects.

Seanova - I have been following Keith's build of his own Malahini with great anticipation and admiration.  I have found his honesty with the successes and failures he has faced along the way most encouraging and helpful.  I really appreciate his dedication to illustrate and chronicle his build of Danga.

Glen-L Boat Builder's Forum - A wealth of information from experienced builders.  I have received help and insight several times from forum members..
Bruce T. in Almonte Canada just finished his boat and posted a video on YouTube...Pretty Cool!  Take a look at his work by clicking here.
