| I didn't get much done on Saturday the 28th and Sunday my son and I went flying with my father-in-law. We both had a great time and I tried my hand at aerial photography. Not bad for my first pics in the air. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Sunday evening...I did get a chance to try my first attempt at steam-bending. I laid the chines in place and clamped near the stern. I pulled the stem end of the logs together with a bar clamp, wrapped the logs in towels, then poured on boiling water. Re-tightend the bar clamp, waited on boiling water, resaturated the towels, and repeated about 5 more times over a few hours. I'll let the logs sit overnight to see how they hold their shape. The pictures show about midway through the whole process. Right now the logs are about 2 inches off of the chine blocking so there is still a little more to do. |
