My Info:
Name: Bill Shaw
I didn't get much done on Saturday the 28th and Sunday my son and I went flying with my father-in-law.  We both had a great time and I tried my hand at aerial photography.  Not bad for my first pics in the air.

Steam Bending the Chine Logs
Sunday evening...I did get a chance to try my first attempt at steam-bending.  I laid the chines in place and clamped near the stern.  I pulled the stem end of the logs together with a bar clamp, wrapped the logs in towels, then poured on boiling water.  Re-tightend the bar clamp, waited on boiling water, resaturated the towels, and repeated about 5 more times over a few hours.

I'll let the logs sit overnight to see how they hold their shape.  The pictures show about midway through the whole process.  Right now the logs are about 2 inches off of the chine blocking so there is still a little more to do.
